Overview

Microsoft Office Word is Microsoft’s most widely used productivity software. Word incorporates many features and connectivity options in efforts to make collaboration and production as easy as possible. This Foundation level is intended to help all novice computer users get up to speed quickly. This manual will also help more experienced users who have little to no experience with Word and the ribbon interface. 

Highlights of the course include a complete overview of the interface; quick-start information on creating a basic document; basic editing techniques; and information on formatting, printing, and viewing tools.

Starting Out
To begin, you will learn the basics of Word. You will also learn how to create a basic document and how to get help in Word.

The Word Interface
Next, participants will closely examine the ribbon interface, including the Quick Access toolbar and the main tabs.

Advanced Tabs and Customization
In this section, participants will learn about the more advanced tabs in Word. Contextual tabs and customizing the ribbon will also be covered.

Creating Documents
This section will explore different methods for creating a document, as well as basic text editing and formatting tools.


Doing More with Text
Next, participants will delve deeper into text formatting tools with lessons on the Font dialog, using tabs, and borders and shading.


Printing and Viewing Your Document
The final section of this course will cover printing and viewing tools.
